Kelly Osbourne's Evolving Physique: A Journey Through the Years

Kelly Osbourne's appearance at a recent event in London, where she showcased a noticeably slimmer figure, sparked considerable online discussion.

This led the 41-year-old star to address online trolls in a video, dismissing claims that she looked unwell and accusations of using Ozempic, especially while grieving the loss of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, in July.

Throughout her career, the British TV personality has been candid about her weight-related insecurities, beginning during her teenage years on the reality show, The Osbournes.

Early Struggles and TV Pressure

During an episode of The Osbournes podcast last year, Kelly shared a memory of being told by an agency head that she was "too fat for TV" and needed to lose weight to enhance her career prospects. She was told that losing weight could make her a movie star.

Since then, her weight loss journey has been marked by significant ups and downs.

Gastric Sleeve Surgery and Initial Weight Loss

Kelly revealed in 2020 that she had lost 85lbs following gastric sleeve surgery two years prior. She also emphasized the importance of exercise and a healthy diet in achieving her weight loss goals.

However, during her pregnancy, she regained the weight and developed gestational diabetes, leading her to retreat from public view.

When she subsequently lost the weight again, speculation arose about her use of Ozempic, which she vehemently denied.

Surgical Intervention and its Impact

In 2018, Kelly underwent gastric sleeve surgery, which she later described as a life-changing decision. She stated that it was "the best thing she has ever done."

By early 2020, she proudly announced the loss of 85lbs on Instagram, attributing her success to hard work. Kelly also emphasized the combined effect of surgery, exercise, and healthy eating.

She clarified that the surgery alone isn't a complete solution. "If you don't work out and you don't eat right, you gain weight. All [the surgery] does is move you in the right direction."

She highlighted that the procedure reduces cravings and emotional eating, which had been a significant challenge for her. Health tracking apps like Shotlee can help monitor dietary changes and physical activity levels.

Fitness Regimen: HIIT and Cardio

Kelly's personal trainer, Lacey Stone, revealed that her fitness routine included high-intensity interval training (HIIT) combined with cardio exercises.

Stone recommended a circuit of squats, lunges, deadlifts, push-ups, dumbbell bicep curl shoulder press combos, and dips two to three times per week, along with spin or cardio classes.

She emphasized the importance of strength training to maintain curves and definition, noting that it complements cardio by stimulating muscle growth.

Pregnancy, Weight Gain, and Gestational Diabetes

During her pregnancy with her son Sidney in 2022, Kelly gained 100lbs and developed gestational diabetes.

She later told People that she initially avoided public appearances due to feeling ashamed. "I just didn't want pictures out there. I didn't want to face it and have people be like, 'Oh, she's a moose!' So I just cut the problem out," she explained.

She admitted to being overly critical of herself during that time, stating, "I was not gentle on myself. It's something I'd be mad at myself for. I didn't need to hide."

Post-Pregnancy Weight Loss and Ozempic Denials

After giving birth in November 2022, she embarked on a mission to lose the baby weight, admitting she may have gone too far. "I was on a mission after having the baby to lose all my baby weight. And then I was like, well I lost all the baby weight, lets see how far I can go with it. [I] went a little bit too far but [I] stopped," she shared.

In 2024, Kelly addressed rumors about using Ozempic, stating that she lost weight rapidly by cutting out sugar and carbohydrates. She explained, "I know everybody thinks I took Ozempic. I did not take Ozempic. I don't know where that came from. My mum took Ozempic."

She clarified that managing gestational diabetes required her to lose weight to reduce the risk of developing diabetes. She also revealed undergoing skin tightening treatments like EMFACE and EMSCULPT to address stretch marks and skin elasticity issues after pregnancy.

Wellness Journey and Addressing Critics

In May, Kelly discussed her wellness journey at The Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit, stating that she felt things finally fell into place after addressing her mental state. "I tried probably everything that there is out there, whether it be surgery, medication, diet and exercise," she said. "I got my mind where I needed it to be, and everything started to fall into place."

Earlier, Kelly addressed critics after showcasing her slender frame at an event. "To the people who keep thinking they're being funny and mean by writing comments like are you ill or get off Ozempic, you don't look right... My dad just died, and I'm doing the best that I can," she stated in a video.

She emphasized the importance of family and choosing to share the positive aspects of her life. Her mother, Sharon Osbourne, noted the impact of Ozzy's death on Kelly, stating, "She's not happy, she's lost her daddy, she can't eat right now."

Sharon also addressed the trolling, describing it as a reflection of unhappiness and jealousy in others' lives.
