Alix Earle's Stepmother Apologizes to Cheryl Burke
Ashley Dupré has issued an apology to Cheryl Burke after making disparaging remarks about the
Dancing With The Stars guest judge.
Earlier in the week, Dupré posted a TikTok video criticizing Burke for awarding Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy a score of nine instead of ten for their Halloween tango. Dupré suggested Burke should "go take more
Ozempic," adding that she looked "weird" and unlike herself, making these comments in front of her young children.
Cheryl Burke's Response
Burke responded with her own video, indirectly addressing Dupré's comments. While not mentioning Dupré by name, Burke rebuked those who believe "body-shaming is OK, especially in front of your children," emphasizing the negative message it conveys about one's values.
Ashley Dupré's Apology
Dupré has since acknowledged her error and offered an apology to Burke. In a TikTok video posted on Friday, she stated:
"I just wanted to jump on here and apologize for making comments that were insensitive. In the heat of the competition, my step-motherly instincts got the better of me."
Dupré further stated:
"Never ever do I ever want to make another person feel bad... I'm sorry that my actions did not reflect that."
As of yet, Cheryl Burke has not responded to the apology. Alix Earle has also remained silent on the matter. It is likely she hopes the public dispute between her stepmother and Val Chmerkovskiy's brother will subside, at least until the competition concludes. Health tracking apps like
