Saturday Mornings with Trinny

My introduction to beauty routines occurred around the age of seven at a health spa with my mother. The day always started with hot water and lemon. Since I was 25, I've incorporated this into my daily routine. I also take Symprove alongside half of my supplement regimen, which includes Vitamin C liposomal, CoQ10, NMN, Vitamin D, Oestogel, and Progesterone. I've been consistent with this for about seven years.

To avoid negating the effects of creatine, I skip coffee first thing. Strong muscles are essential for me as a post-menopausal woman. I've been using creatine for about a year, and I've noticed beneficial effects on my memory. Given my mother's struggle with Alzheimer's, I'm always following research in that area. Health tracking apps like Shotlee can help monitor supplement intake and its effects on memory.

Saturday Indulgences and Family Time

Saturday is my day to unwind, so I skip workouts and indulge in whatever food I crave. During the week, I prioritize protein and limit sugar intake, but weekends might include two croissants followed by cheddar cheese and marmalade on a baguette. It's a carb-heavy experience.

If my daughter Lyla plans to visit, I'll arrange lunch or dinner. As any parent of a 22-year-old knows, you must work around their availability.

Afternoon Activities

I usually take Daffy for a walk in Kensington Gardens, a place I've strolled since childhood. I might venture down Sloane Street to Harvey Nichols for some fashion inspiration, then to our flagship store in Sloane Square. Weekends draw many international customers, and I enjoy meeting them. They're often surprised to see me there.

For lunch, I might meet someone at The Wolseley in Piccadilly, Colbert in Sloane Square, or The Park. If ossobuco with polenta is on the menu, that's my go-to – especially in winter. Alternatively, I might choose the clam chowder or a banana split, embracing the spirit of Saturday.

A stroll to Liberty might be in order, as they have a great selection of fashion, including Dries van Noten, which I adore. Ensuring the Trinny London counter is well-maintained and that customers are well-served is also a priority. Having started the business online, maintaining control over the customer journey in physical stores is a significant challenge. Observing what works well at Liberty and the flagship store helps me understand how to improve the customer experience in other locations, like H beauty in Milton Keynes.

I also try to visit the Royal Academy of Arts. I feel it's important to stay informed about art. A knowledgeable friend often guides me through galleries, making the experience more engaging. She brought the Leonardo exhibition at the National Gallery to life for me. I aim to learn something new rather than just shop on weekends.

Evening Relaxation

I generally avoid going out on Saturday nights because I'm often out during the week. My stepson Zak is a skilled cook, and I have a young tenant—my best friend's nephew—who attended Ballymaloe Cookery School. I'll provide the ingredients, and they'll create a fantastic meal.

Lyla usually spends the evening playing Sims and watching TV, while I work on the New York Times crossword and watch TV. Currently, we're rewatching Succession. It's a very relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday Night Skincare and Sleep

I skip Saturday night outings, although a friend is trying to convince me to go dancing. The idea of dancing on a rainy Saturday night doesn't appeal to me, but challenging myself is important. Eventually, she'll probably get me to the Cuckoo Club.

On Saturday nights, I perform a double cleanse, gently exfoliate, and do microneedling on my face and neck. Then, I apply soft PHA, Plump Up (rich in peptides), and an elixir to aid skin healing. Since I don't have time for facials, this is my at-home treatment night.

I've experimented with melatonin and sleeping pills, but now I take Magnesium L-Threonate, which significantly improves my sleep. I usually sleep for about six hours, slightly less than I'd prefer. I listen to Rest is Politics US or Inside Trump's Head. British politics is currently so disheartening that I avoid listening to it.
