Heather Gay from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City speaks candidly about her weight loss journey, embracing GLP-1 medications like Ozempic while navigating body image and public perception.
She first revealed her Ozempic use in November 2023, noting modest results at the time. By November 2024, Gay had lost 25 pounds with GLP-1s, boosting her confidence and wardrobe options despite some fan backlash questioning her personality shift.
Jumping on the Ozempic Bandwagon
"[I'm] on the Ozempic train," Heather Gay shared in November 2023. "I've been on it for a long time, but hadn't really seen much results. And I haven't had massive results, but enough for people to notice, which is great."
Even a small weight drop changed perceptions. "You lose five pounds, people are nicer to you," she observed, calling it a "discouraging" reality for women.
Skinny, But Not Bitchy
After slimming down, some fans claimed Gay became "meaner." She refuted this, explaining, "Any time a pretty girl stands up for herself, she's a (obscenity). And when you are heavier and you lead with comedy and you lead with self-deprecation, you're a lot less threatening."
Gay attributed firmer boundaries to past experiences: "I do have a lot more boundaries now than I had then, and I also have been freaking burned by women on this show and friends." She admitted being tougher with new castmate Bronwyn Newport due to lessons learned, while still prioritizing kindness.
