The prominent media figure has been open about employing GLP-1 drugs for shedding excess weight, yet she recently shared an unforeseen benefit from the treatment: an end to her alcohol intake.

'I used to enjoy tequila immensely,' Winfrey stated to People in a December 30 interview. 'I actually consumed 17 shots on a single evening.'

However, since starting GLP-1s, the 71-year-old revealed that her era of surpassing everyone else's drinking at social gatherings has concluded.

'The realization that I no longer crave it at all,' she remarked, 'is truly remarkable.'

This sense of wonder extends to nearly every area of her existence.

'I sense greater liveliness and energy than ever before,' Winfrey, who acknowledged using a GLP-1 in 2023, expressed. 'I'm no longer berating myself. I barely recognize the person I've transformed into. Yet, she's a content individual.'

Furthermore, she reports increased vitality for her close relationships, including her supportive partner Stedman Graham.

'It seems I have more capacity to offer others,' she added. 'I'm simply more receptive to everything.'

'I steered clear of the term 'obesity' because it implied a lack of control,' she clarified. 'But I've come to grasp that overeating isn't the root cause of obesity. Instead, obesity triggers overeating. This has been the most liberating insight of my adulthood.'
